Somehow I have found quite a bit of time to do knitting lately.  I think the cold weather has something to do with it.  I like to knit a little something for new babies that our friends have so when I heard a friend had her baby boy right after Thanksgiving I decided to knit him some legwarmers.  They were so fun and easy to make I decided to knit Dieter a pair too.  I found a super easy pattern and if I wouldn’t have dragged them out so long I’m sure I could have gotten them done in a couple days.  He looks so cute in them  and they’re great for running around the house or for an extra layer under some pants.

  • Size 2 needle
  • Sock yarn
  • Cast on 40 stitches
  • Knit 2×2 rib for 10 inches.
  • Cast of loosely

Told you it was easy!  I got the pattern from Ravelry, it was called “Super Simple Little Legwarmers” by Emily Jane.

The other knitted thing I’ve been putting Dieter in was something I made before he was born.  I made them before I realized how serious my gauge issue was so instead of them being 6-9 months they started fitting him a month ago.  They are so warm and snuggly though and I really love them.

I also found this pattern on Ravelry.  It’s called “Kanoko Pants.”

Steph, I LOVE those leg warmers! I always wanted some with Aiden but never bought any so they were the perfect gift for Sage. Dieter’s pants are awesome too! Have you seen some of those wool knitted pants that double as diaper covers? I’ve seen some especially cute sets for little girls with matching shirts. Maybe I need to try to learn to knit. 😉

He looks great in these. When I first saw them, I immediately thought of German baby clothes.
